Rock-n-Roll Birthday Bucket List

Get born. Get born before the wind. Then, venture into the slipstream, between the viaducts of your dreams. See the big birds flying across the sky, throwing shadows on our eyes.

Stay forever young, younger than the sun.

Beg, steal or borrow, but while you see a chance, take it!

Build a ladder to the stars. There are blue, blue windows behind the stars. Climb on every rung to catch the yellow moon on the rise. If you want it, come and get it.

Don’t go back to Rockville. But if you are going to Scarborough Fair, do beware of soft shoe shuffler’s tumbling dice. Life is a carnival. Just don’t get fooled again and spend 30 days in the hole. Whatever you do, don’t keep a dollar past sunset.

Don’t sleep till Brooklyn. In da Club, meet Virginia. If she knew what she wants, give it to her. Roll in the deep. Rock me on the water. Play some funky music, white boy. Let’s trip the light fandango.

Have a drink on me. One bourbon, one scotch, one beer. Why don’t we get drunk (and screw). Why don’t we do it in the road? Take the long way home, but you better be home soon. Run through the jungle. (Help me, Angel!) Run to a standstill. (Should I fall behind, wait for me.) If you run against the wind, don’t be caught running on empty. (Make me an angel from Montgomery.) Don’t stop if you haven’t found what you’re looking for.

And when you see the Southern Cross, you will understand now why you came this way.

Dig a Pony. Horses, Horses, Horses. (Who’s gonna ride you wild horses?)

Relax! Get back to where you once belong.

Let. It. Be. (Just don’t you forget about me).
